The Busy Bee in Atlanta, GA is looking for one soul food prep cook to join our 21 person strong team. We are located on 810 Martin Luther King Drive. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes for large batches
• Sanitize and prepare equipment and workstation for cooking
• Weigh and measure ingredients
• Mix, wash, peel, chop, grind, strain, slice meat and vegetables
• Basic cooking functions such as kneading dough, and preparing sauces
• Label stock and inventory all ingredients
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
• Able to lift 50lbs
• Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment will contribute to the overall success of our operations
• Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
• Please note that this is a physically demanding role that requires standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects

Qualifications

• Batch cooking experience
• ServSafe certified
• Understanding of cooking methods of staple soul food items such as Oxtail, Meatloaf, Cubed steak, Collards, Candied Yams, etc.
• The right candidate should understand the seasonal variety and variation that affect crops and flavor.
• Ability to communicate and listen to team members
• Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
• Prior Prep Cook experience is a MUST
